Kwahera Spears, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who earned a Master's degree in Social Work from Texas A&M Commerce. I also earned a second Master’s in Human Service Counseling: Marriage and Family for Liberty University. I served 6 years in the United States Air Force as Security Force Officer with 3 deployments overseas. I am the mother of 2 beautiful girls and wife to my best friend for the last 17 years.

After honorably discharging from the military and relocating to DFW I chose to pursue my Master's degree in Social Work. I begin this journey by working with the homeless Veteran population and begin assisting them with resume writing, interviewing, budgeting, and resource connection. I provided individual and group therapy to individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and adjustment disorders. I have also worked in the long-term care (LTC) community for 7 years providing grief counseling, geriatric counseling, dementia education, and end of life planning to patients and families. While working in LTC I found a passion for working with individuals, and their families, suffering from dementia.

Social work and mental health therapy are a calling I take very seriously. My goal is to assist my clients in healing through support and education.

Kwahera specializes in adults, seniors, couples, dementia disorders, personality disorders, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, and general life stresses and stressors.
